Representing Ontario District 6, Orleans Little League Baseball will be hosting the Little League Ontario Junior Provincial Baseball Championship between Sunday, July 26 and Monday, August 3, 2015. Orleans will host the Championship comprising Ontario’s best baseball teams of players 13 and 14 years old.

The Championship will begin Monday July 27th with first game at 8:30 am. Then on Tuesday, July 28 at 1p.m. At Heritage Park located on Orleans Boulevard (one block North of Forest Valley and Orleans Boulevard intersection) there will be an opening ceremony. Ottawa City Councillors Bob Monette (Deputy Mayor), Jody Mitic, Stephen Blais, representing Orleans, and Orleans Little League President Gord Crookston, will throw out the first pitch.

Little League Ontario Juniors will be competing against teams from across Ontario. Junior teams that have qualified through regional competition are: Orleans, Kemptville, Oakville,  Windsor West, East Nepean, Mississippi, Westfort, and Carleton-Russell.

“Orleans Little League is proud to host the Ontario Junior Championship”, said Orleans President Gord Crookston, “it promises to be an exciting opportunity for our community and allow our players to shine at the highest level of provincial competition”.

The winner of the Championship will play at the National Championships to be held in Lethbridge, Alberta from August 5 to 13.
