The Minor Canadians Red Sox rode solid pitching and timely, clutch hitting to make the finals  at the annual Scott Tokessy Memorial tournament August 6.

“We came up a little short in the end, but the boys played hard and made me and their parents really proud,” said team manager Jamie Barnhardt.

After going 2-1 in the round robin, the Sox faced an undefeated Kanata team in the semis, winning 10 to 7 in a game that was tighter than the score showed, before falling in the final 13-7 to another Kanata entry.

“Our boys played hard and had fun. This was a great building block as we move on to our city playoffs.”
