All volunteers who come in contact with OLLB’s athletes, without exception (managers, coaches, convenors, assistants, etc…) are required to complete a Police Records Check for Service with the Vulnerable Sector (valid for 3 years with OLLB) as well as a Little League Canada Volunteer Application (annually). Volunteers must then upload these documents to their profile on LeagueGM for approval by OLLB’s Safety Officer.
Manual application for Records Checks (dropping applications off at the Trim Rd. detachment) are currently experiencing delays of 4+weeks.
Fortunately, the OPS has just launched an online service that has cut delays to 1-2 weeks and OLLB is one of the first leagues to have access to this service.
To get started, go to our Become a Volunteer Page and;
- Download the Police Check Waiver Request letter and Applicant Checklist,
- Review the Applicant Checklist and gather any additional documentation that you may require,
- Go to the Online Police Records Check site (Ottawa Police Service) to start your application.
Then follow the instructions under Uploading Files to LeagueGM on the Become a Volunteer page as you complete your volunteer application or receive your completed Police Records Check.
